Nokia ripping off The xx?
It’s a trade secret. Creatives come up with a TV script, and are tasked with assigning the background music to go with it. In a perfect world, nice music gets recommended to the clients, and royalties are paid to the artists who in turn make more nice music.
But then reality hits. Clients are cheap. And they’d settle for manipulated versions of music pegs that the innocent Creatives [heh] send them.
A friendly tip — if you’re going to toggle with the music, do it on a pop song. God forbid you wrong any of the hipster staples, you will suffer a raging internet death. Them muzak blogs are ablaze. Watch your back, Nokia.

This campaign from Halifax’s outreach program for sex workers, Stepping Stone, is so awesome that I said YES out loud when I saw the poster downtown.
Spread this around. It’s a great program and should be supported.
Can I just tell you that I love this? It’s upsetting to me that people don’t think of sex workers as people. They are our mothers, our brothers, our friends.

My only contribution to this year’s Kidlat Awards — I wrote the writeup for that logo. Which won. YAY.

Pilar Dollano and I represented DM9 JaymeSyfu at the Young Kidlat competition in Boracay last week, May 1, 2011.
The brief was impossible : Convince the Catholic Church to become proRH bill supporters by any means possible.
This was our entry.
(We didn’t win but we’re happy with our work.)
